- Note your P25 / median / P75 position; honestly assess where you sit.

Phase 2Week 2
Define a 24-month target
Set a specific compensation and role outcome 24 months out. Vague goals do not produce specific moves.
- Write down a target total compensation figure 24 months from now.
- Pick a target role title and scope. Is it a step up in scope, in title, or both?
- Identify two to three sectors where that target is most achievable.
Phase 3Weeks 3-4
Pick your path
Choose between an internal trajectory, an external move, a switch in sector, or a relocation.
- List the 2-3 paths that close the gap between today and your 24-month target.
- Score each on speed, certainty, and downside risk.
- Commit to one primary path and one fallback.
Phase 4Months 2-24
Execute and review
Quarterly reviews keep the plan honest. Most career plans fail because they’re written once and never revisited.

- Track skill investments — courses, certifications, projects — that move the plan forward.
