Getting started

Is BetterPay free to use?: Yes. The Free tier covers public salary benchmarks, the basic offer comparison and salary calculator, and limited Career Co-Pilot usage. You only need a paid plan if you want personalized analysis and deeper negotiation guidance.
Which countries are supported today?: Singapore is the first commercialization market for the full Free vs Pro experience. Malaysia has offer comparison live today, while calculators, career-path tools, and deeper Pro workflows are available by market as they roll out.
Do I need to sign up to try the product?: You can browse public salary benchmarks and country pages without an account. A free account unlocks the Career Co-Pilot, saved comparisons, and personalised insights.

Data and methodology

Where does your salary data come from?: BetterPay aggregates structured signals from active APAC job listings, augmented by AI extraction of role, seniority, sector, and compensation fields. We refresh continuously rather than relying on annual surveys.
How accurate are the benchmarks?: We publish median, P25, and P75 ranges with sample sizes attached. Where the sample is too thin to be reliable, we say so instead of showing a misleading point estimate.
Can I see the methodology in detail?: Yes — see the Salary Data resource page for our current methodology, refresh cadence, and the known limitations of the dataset.

What does Pro add over Free?: Pro includes personalized salary positioning, decision-ready offer comparison, higher-quota Career Co-Pilot usage, negotiation guidance, and saved reports as paid features roll out. See the Pricing page for the full comparison.
Can I cancel any time?: Yes. Pro is month-to-month and you can downgrade to Free at any point — your account and saved data are preserved.

AI Career Co-Pilot

How does the Career Co-Pilot differ from generic AI chat?: It calls structured tools against our APAC job-market database via MCP, so answers reference real listings and ranges rather than guessing from a model's training data.
Will it give me bad advice?: AI can be wrong. We design Co-Pilot to cite the data behind each suggestion so you can sanity-check before acting. For high-stakes decisions, we recommend pairing it with the offer comparison and benchmark tools.

Account and privacy

How is my data protected?: Sessions are HMAC-signed, secrets are stored server-side only, and we never sell your salary inputs. See our Privacy Policy and Cookies pages for full details.
Can I delete my account?: Yes. Email contact@humanmax.ai from the address on your account and we will action a deletion request within five business days.
Do you share my salary inputs with employers or recruiters?: No. Individual salary inputs are never shared. Aggregated, anonymised statistics may inform our published benchmarks.
